2008 Season - Week 8

Owners Hall of Fame

So far the campaign has hardly lived up to the Presidential Campaign. Where’s the mud slinging? All I’ve heard is Mark B say “Take a long hard look at the stats. There can be only one. Vote for change. Vote Champ” and David S say “the hole of fame is missing any virgins and any French men - but you could solve this with a single vote. Don't waste your vote - we'd all like to see the virgins enter the hole for the first time” Um..yes… Remember this is the most prestigious award in the BUMS – voted by your peers. Last year Chief was voted in to join inaugural member Cheryl, now someone else will join them. The rules are simple - each year one owner (past or present) will be honoured by the current owners. All you have to do is email me the name of the owner you wish to place in the Hall of Fame, Owners Wing. Email me your vote by November 16th. Please note there is no room for narcissism in the BUMS - YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF. Nominations are again listed alphabetically on the attached sheet with the 16 current owners joined by the 4 former owners Andrew Gulliford, Paul Privitera Phil Long & Steve Talbot. Let the campaigning begin, why do YOU deserve to be in? Another Coach Bites The Dust Less than half way through the season and a third coach has been fired, this time San Francisco Head Coach Mike Nolan was released, replaced by linebacking legend Mike Singletary who sent Vernon Davis to the locker room mid-game against Seattle. Things getting tight In the Premiership Wayne, Andy H and Daz have opened up a lead at the top of the table but fourth to ninth (the first relegation spot) are covered by just 2 touchdowns. Mark H is fourth with 196 points, 3 ahead of AP, who is one ahead of Chief, who leads Johnny by 1 point. He is ahead of his brother Mark by 2 points who is 5 points from safety where Dave G is sat in ninth on 184 points. While David S and John have a decent lead in the Conference Marcus scored 24 points in Monday Nights game making the battle for the final promotion spot very close. Aaron is in that spot leading his brother by 3 points while his big Monday moved Marcus 5 ahead of George. BUMS on Seats. Chief is back off to Europe for the next round of the SuperLeague Formula motor racing so if you want to see the Sunday evening Sky games Green Bay @ Tennessee and Dallas @ The Giants you’ll need to contact Johnny. We’ll be at HQ on Monday from 6:30pm for the Sunday Night game (New England @ Indianapolis) and back to Johnny’s on Tuesday as Washington host Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football.
